Mia apologizes for lying. Maggie assures her that she understands. She answers her phone and is stunned to hear that Melanie and Nathan have been arrested. She quickly leaves.

Mia later answers her door to Will and wonders what he’s doing back there. He apologizes for walking out earlier and admits he can be a jerk sometimes. She asks if he told anyone, and he assures her that he didn’t. He insists that he’s not judging her.

She expresses how she wants to tell him everything. He kisses her. “Don’t worry. Chad will never know the truth,” he assures her.

Back at the Java Café

Nicole arrives, and Will soon leaves. Nervous Nicole sits down with E.J., who says Will is having problems with his girlfriend Mia. E.J. tells Nicole that Mia is being dishonest with him, and Nicole innocently wonders how. E.J. says Will didn’t say specifically, but knows it’s painful for him, especially when he’s being raised by a mother like Sami who also lies to him. Nicole questions if he has any idea what Mia was lying about, which makes E.J. wonder why she cares to know that. Nicole insists that it’s not important what Mia lied about, she just wants her and Will to be happy like they are. E.J. says he’d do anything in the world to make Nicole happy. “I wanna go away from here, E.J. You and me and Sydney. I wanna go away and never come back,” she expresses.

Police Station

Nathan and Melanie are relieved that at least Daniel’s in the clear.

Melanie blames herself for Nathan’s career being on the line after he broke the rules. Nathan reiterates that he made a conscious decision, which turned out to be a great decision. She doesn’t understand how he could risk everything for someone whom he doesn’t even know. He states that he did what he thought was right, but doesn’t understand her in this whole situation, knowing she went to bat for Daniel after getting Brady’s word that he was a good guy. “Well, Brady doesn’t lie,” responds Melanie. He notes how Melanie went to bat for him and tried to save his ass. “It means a lot to me,” expresses Nathan.

Melanie smiles how Nathan thinks she’s so good it hurts. “And then I disappoint you because I’m not that girl and I never will be,” she surmises. Nathan asks if she’s really sure she’s going to be a disappointment to him. It looks like they are about to kiss until Maggie barges in, demanding to know what’s going on. Melanie backs away as Nathan smiles at what a great thing he and Melanie did.

Sami’s Dream

Sami looks at a photo of herself, Rafe, and Grace when Rafe appears and kisses her. They kiss again, but it turns out to be another dream of Sami’s. She soon awakens.

Brady Pub

Arianna assumes by the grin on Rafe’s face that he found something. He states that Nicole is keeping a little secret from her husband and the rest of the world. “Nicole had a miscarriage,” he reveals, recalling how he overheard Brady and Nicole talking about how E.J. can never know about her miscarriage. Arianna displays her jealousy upon learning that Nicole was confiding in Brady. Rafe believes they have some sort of bond. He suggests that maybe she lost the baby around the time Grace died, which could explain why she was so emotional. He wonders if the baby could’ve possibly been Brady’s, but Arianna believes he’s way off base with that one.

Rafe answers his phone to Sami, who is still at the convent and urges him not to hang up. Sami confesses that she had a dream about him. Arianna steps aside to do the inventory. Sami reveals that she’s at the convent, but she refuses to tell him about her dream. She admits that she was thinking about him and Grace, expressing how lucky she is to have known him. They reflect on Grace and what a beautiful smile she had and how it would’ve been nice for him to be there when she was born. Sami recalls how scared she was when they took Grace away from her at the clinic. Rafe is surprised to hear that someone took Grace away from her when she was born. Sami recounts how Dr. Baker took Grace away, since she was having trouble breathing and took her into another room to work on her. Rafe implores Sami to tell him how long Dr. Baker was gone. She doesn’t want to talk about it and hangs up on him.

Arianna comes back into the dining room and wonders where Rafe went.

Rafe is outside calling Sarah, threatening to track her down so she can tell him the truth about what Dr. Baker was doing that was so bad. Sarah agrees to tell him, but warns him to never call her again. “Dr. Baker was buying and selling babies illegally,” she reveals.

Rafe later tries to put the pieces together and wonders if Nicole had a miscarriage when she was at the clinic for walk-in emergency. He finally theorizes that Nicole lost her baby and faked her pregnancy, recalling how sad she was. He realized that she needed a baby, so she went to her doctor, a baby broker. “She was at the clinic to get one of Baker’s black market babies! That’s why the nurse never saw her!” realizes Rafe. He still wonders why Nicole went to the clinic the same night Sami had her baby pretending to have her own baby. “Because she knew that Sami was having E.J.’s baby. Oh my God!” he concludes. He realizes that Nicole didn’t just want any baby, she wanted E.J.’s. He is incredulous to realize that the baby he felt kicking inside of Sami was never Grace. “Nicole had Baker switch babies!” he concludes. “Sami’s baby is Sydney!” continues an overwhelmed Rafe.

Back at the Convent

Sister Claire enters Sami’s room and wonders what’s wrong. Sami confides in Sister Claire what a terrific guy Rafe is, but he started keeping things from her, which made her wonder if she should trust him. She reveals that she had a dream about him, but doesn’t want to say it out loud because it might not come true. “But what it if could?” smiles Sister Claire, who tries to assure Sami that if it’s God’s will, it will happen. Sami doesn’t know if there are any miracles left for her.
