Some reports claim that as many as one quarter of the population will suffer from depression at some point in their life.
That means that the number of people suffering from depression could reach into the billions! So, I hope if you are one of these people suffering from depression you realize you are far from alone.
In fact so many people suffer from depression that a variety of cures and treatments have been developed to help in the treatment of the illness.
Most everyone is aware of the great number of prescription drugs aimed at treating depression but not everyone has been introduced to the natural ways to cure depression.
As we go through life we gather tidbits of seemingly useful information and one of the tidbits I picked up along the way is the relationship between our moods and colors.
Studies show a direct link between these and an entire treatment has been developed surrounding the idea.
This is called chromo therapy.
Colors can intensify not only your happy moods but also your depression itself.

The relationship in people may not be quite this evident but nonetheless changing colors around you has shown real results for some people.

With practice you can achieve a total relaxation through these methods both relieving stress and your depression symptoms.
Made for television movies often portray these methods as some type of voodoo but in reality much of the art revolves around deep breathing techniques somewhat like those taught to expecting mothers designed to keep their stress down during child birth.
Keeping your body in a relaxed state mentally can help to achieve total mental relaxation as well.
For example I often have struggled with insomnia.
The most effective way I have found to treat this is to step out on my front porch, take a few deep breaths, and look out at the stars in amazement.
When I step back inside I am often able to go to sleep within minutes.
There are many natural ways to cure depression so if you are working to avoid prescription drugs you can definitely achieve your goal.
