How to Get Oil Out of Curtains
- 1). Pour 10 tablespoons of warm water and 1 tablespoon of a grease-cutting liquid dish soap into a bowl and stir to combine.
- 2). Dip an old toothbrush into the soapy water and apply to the oil stain. Rub the brush into the stain, working in the soap. Continue dipping the brush into the water and rubbing it against the curtain until the stain starts to lift. Rinse the curtain in warm water.
- 3). Dip a cotton swab into a citrus oil-based all-purpose cleaner or stain remover and work it into the fabric to remove a stubborn oil spot. Continue applying the citrus solution to the oil spot with the swab until the stain disappears.
- 4). Wash the curtains in a washing machine according the manufacturer's care label.
