How to Get Grease & Dirt Out of a Piece of Laundry
- 1). Brush loose dirt off the garment with a whisk broom. Extract as much dirt particles as possible.
- 2). Rinse the dirty fabric under cold water, flushing out more loose dirt.
- 3). Blot any fresh grease off the garment with paper towels. Absorb as much grease from the fabric as possible.
- 4). Pretreat the remaining dirt and grease stain with prewash stain remover. Completely cover the dirt and grease with the prewash product, rubbing the liquid into the fabric. Let the soiled fabric soak for 30 minutes.
- 5). Launder the clothing piece with 1/4-cup laundry detergent in warm water. Follow the garment's care tag instructions.
- 6). Lay the clothing piece flat to air-dry.
- 7). Launder the garment again if any dirt or grease remains. Use the same laundering process as previously.
