- 1). Unscrew the tail cap assembly counterclockwise. Remove the batteries from the Maglite.
- 2). Turn the head assembly counterclockwise to unscrew it and lift it off the body of the Maglite.
- 3). Pull the lamp straight out of the receptacles in the upper insulator to remove it.
- 4). Lift out the upper insulator.
