How to Design a Kid's Hoodie
- 1). Choose your canvas. Pick a hoodie your child will like. This seems like it should be a simple enough step, but getting a child to agree to any single color could be a challenge.
- 2). Pick a pattern. Choose one of your child's favorite television or storybook characters. Either copy or scan it to your personal computer and print it out on a sheet of transfer paper.
- 3). Start your engines. Set your iron to maximum heat. Be sure the hoodie is buffered against an ironing board. The old towel on the table trick will not suffice because it will trap the heat in the towel and cause the transfer paper to peel.
- 4). Be creative. There are no rules when it comes to the repetition of the image. You can iron the image as many times as you have copies. Overlapping the image can make for a unique design.
- 5). Cool off. Let the hoodie cool. Test a corner of the transferred image. If the edges are adhered, you are in good shape. When washing the hoodie, be sure you turn it inside-out and wash it in cold water. To be on the safe side, let it line dry.
