<p>The patient has a right ankle Charcot's arthropathy. Charcot's changes frequently occur in diabetic patients, due to the peripheral neuropathy that so often affects the lower extremities. The area of the foot most commonly involved is the midfoot, with rapid deterioration of the talonavicular (as is the case in this patient), calcaneocuboid, or tarsometatarsal joints.</p>
