How to Measure Deck Height With Calipers
- 1). Select a caliper that is at least as long as the deck's height.
- 2). Open the jaws of the caliper fully. The depth probe will exit the rear end of the caliper and extend far past the body of the caliper.
- 3). Touch the depth probe to the ground and align the calipers so that the probe's side touches the edge of the deck. The narrow right end of the caliper's main body should stand perpendicular over the top of the deck.
- 4). Gently slide the caliper shut until its back end is flush against the deck face and the probe still touches the ground.
- 5). Tighten the locking screws located at the top of most calipers.
- 6). Lay the caliper in front of you and read the deck's height measurement using the caliper's scales or displays.
