Mineral makeup is a relatively new form of makeup that is made from various minerals and has been marketed as a healthier alternative than chemically based makeup formulas that can be harmful to skin. Mineral makeup however carries with it hazards of its own that should be considered when deciding whether to try this form of makeup coverage. If you are interested in mineral makeup, learn about some hazards that it can carry. - Mineral makeup can cause skin irritation. Depending on the brand, certain chemicals found in mineral makeup, such as bismuth oxychloride, can cause skin irritation. Should your skin present with redness or itching after using mineral makeup you should rinse it off with a gentle cleanser and discontinue use.
