Futons - Furniture That Makes Sense

The future of furniture is clearly about making the most use of the space we have available while still maintaining our own personal style and class.
Futons were in use in Japan a long long time ago because the Japanese people understood the concept of many people on a relatively small island.
This concept has spread across the world as space is becoming more and more of a luxury.
Now we have roommates in college dorm rooms and guest visitors and relatives coming to stay.
We have our friends staying the night because they had a little too much fun.
Is there ever really enough extra space? Air mattresses take up valuable closet space, especially in small apartments and offices.
A quality futon holds its own in all of the environments mentioned.
A late night at the office in a snow storm and I know where I'm going to sleep tonight.
If I had to purchase a sofa, a lounger style chair and a small bed I would have just spent a nice chunk of change.
Not to mention again that all that furniture is going to take up quite a bit of space.
One quality futon and I have all of those options in just one unit.
So many uses in apartments, dorm rooms, offices, living rooms, extra bedrooms or even hallways and waiting areas.
The many uses in different environments clearly means more value for your dollar.
As the world economy has gotten tighter the multiple use application of anything is become premium.
One remote is far better than five, right? What could possibly make more sense in this economy than one piece of furniture that does the job of three.
Quality is a word that I continue to use especially when referring to a major investment such as a piece of furniture.
I have spent more than one night on a bad sofa or futon and my back does not like me at all in the morning.
I see no point on buying a piece of furniture I won't use or don't need or really like.
But a quality futon that operates easily, smoothly from one form to another, that is comfortable not just as a seat, but as an actual couch, and not just as a place to sleep but a comfortable bed, now that's not only an investment but a kind find.
A good quality futon will do all of these things well but is also designed to be disassembled easily for maintenance and portability for the day you finally move out of the basement.
There are lots of futon mattresses out there in the world these days and choices are endless.
Multi-core high density foam seams to be the most versatile and comfortable all at the same time.
Futon frames are available from lightweight alloy metals to quality hardwoods.
At the end of the day it is important to remember in the real world you generally get what you pay for so cheap doesn't mean better it just means cheap.
If you plan on keeping your futon for more than just a couple of years look into upgrading a little now and you will thank yourself for it later.
