How to Clean a Napoleon Pellet Stove
- 1). Turn your pellet stove to "OFF" and allow it to cool completely for at least 25 minutes before cleaning.
- 2). Close the viewing door and shift the heat exchange cleaner rod at the front of the hopper three or four times to knock free any ash caught on the stove's heat exchange tubes.
- 3). Open the viewing door and remove the burn pot from inside the stove. Remove any pellets or pellet build-up. Set the burn pot on a heat-resistant surface or hold it over a metal container. Knock, brush or vacuum away any ash or debris clinging to it or inside the stove into a metal container.
- 4). Remove the louvers in the firebox to vacuum away fly ash from the firebox and exhaust manifold opening. Once clean, return the louvers and then place the burn pot in the stove. Make sure to properly line it up with the ignitor.
- 5). Wipe all glass parts with a dry microfiber cloth and follow with a mild cleanser or a fireplace glass cleaner.
