Real Health Question and Answers - Issue 1
As the author of a health newsletter, I receive a ton of questions from subscribers regarding health.
In response, I've decided to do a question and answers article as often as possible.
My goal is to provide natural and practical health solutions to your problems.
So here goes nothing...
--> Question 1: Is stress not the main killer, amplifyng all other health conditions? Providing you have a health body to start with.
--> Answer: Stress is indeed nasty.
Stress can lead to numerous conditions, such as fibromyalgia, depression, or even MS (Multiple Sclerosis).
Stress does commonly amplify other conditions, such as acne, or Alzheimers, or ADHD, but it usually isn't the only cause.
Their are many things that effect health, the main causes of disease in my opinion are as follows: -Diet/Water Intake -Hygiene -Mis-Information -Drugs and Other Toxic Substances -Hereditary Inheritances -Lack of fitness and exercise -Stress -Emotions/Thoughts and your mind So in short, no, stress is not the main cause of disease.
And yes, stress can amplify other conditions.
--> Question 2: I recently have had Gastric Bypass Surgery.
I need to know what is good or bad in foods.
What my body needs to not get malnourished.
--> Answer: As a general rule of thumb, any organic unprocessed foods are OK to eat.
That eliminates almost anything that comes in a package.
You should also avoid tough red meats, and avoid all breads.
A good way to test if bread is organic or not is to press down on the middle of a piece of bread.
If the bread rebounds quickly, it is generally OK to eat.
If it stays depressed, avoid this bread at all costs.
The best foods to eat are ones that are unpackaged, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds and organic free range chicken.
You should also avoid any dairy products, as they do more harm then good.
Also, instead of eating 3 large meals a day, eat 5-6 small meals instead, this will help with digestion and nutrient absorption.
You can use a digestive enzyme after each meal to further aid digestion.
IMPORTANT: Avoid any foods that contain hydrogenated oils and MSG.
--> Question 3: Will elephant feet really cure the "pump" you get while climbing? --> Answer: This question comes across as a joke, but getting rid of the lactic acid pump while climbing is one of the major hurdles of all climbers, so I'll cover it anyways.
First of all you have to know why you get the "pumped" feeling when climbing in the first place.
The pumped feeling occurs due to the build up of lactic acid in the arms.
Lactic acid only builds up when your muscles are forced to operate without oxygen (anaerobic).
This happens when your muscles are exerting more then 20-30% of your max strength.
When this happens, your capillaries are squeezed shut and are unable to provide oxygen to the muscles.
Anything below 20-30% of your max strength will not completely shut your capillaries, so your muscles are still receiving oxygen (aeroboic).
So in order to beat the dreaded pump while climbing, you must do three things: -Increase your max strength -Increase your capillary networks (Capillarity) -Decrease the amount of time your exerting yourself past 20-30% of max strength The major one is increasing your capillary networks.
This is best achieved through endurance and ARC (Active Recovery and Capillarity training).
Unfortunately getting into the details of ARC training is beyond the scope of this question and answers issue.
--> Question 4: How can I reach perfect health? --> Answer: I'll keep this one short.
Eat right, exercise regularly, free your emotions, reduce stress, and enjoy every minute of life.
--> Question 5: Why don't scars heal? --> Answer: Well, most scars can actually be healed with persistence and the right information.
However there are some cases in which scars are permanent.
Your skin is made up of two layers, the epidermis (outer layer), and the dermis (inner layer).
Any scars that are only on the epidermis can be healed with time and the right vitamins and nutrients.
Occasionally you will also need to assist this process with microdermabrasion or glycolic acid peels.
Your skin is constantly shedding skin cells, and replacing them with new skin cells.
For some of us this cycle has been slowed down to a crawl due to vitamin and mineral defficiencies.
Here's a list of vitamins and minerals that are beneficial to the skin: --> Collodial Silver Helps reduce and fight skin infections.
--> Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's) Needed to repair and maintain skin tissue.
Aids in healing.
--> Potassium Defficiency has been linked to acne.
--> Vitamin A Essential for skin emulsion and assimilation.
--> Vitamin B Complex Improves skin tone, increases blood flow.
Deficiencies linked to acne.
--> Vitamin C (Use Ester-C for better Absorption) Reduces inflammation, needed for skin repair.
--> Vitamin D3 Promotes healing and tissue repair.
--> Vitamin E Antioxidant, aids in skin repair.
--> Zinc Aids in healing of tissue, and scar repair.
Deficiency linked to acne.
--> Garlic Destroys bacteria, builds immune function.
--> Selenium Encourages tissue elasticity, powerful antioxidant.
That's it for now...
I'll be answering many more questions from subscribers in the near future, so keep an eye out for future issues.
