Three Ways To Ensure Your Personal Success

We all want the best in life.
We all want to be a better person, a better friend, a better son, daughter, and spouse.
There are a lot of ups and downs on our lives that I really believe either brings us closer to our best - or further apart.
The good news is that we have the ability every day to take steps to ensure our personal success and move beyond the bumps in the road.
Whether it's through unforeseen circumstances, whether someone hurt us, or whether we made poor choices that came back to haunt us, we can easily get blown off course.
The further we get off course, the harder it is for us to get in the game and continue with our goals.
I have identified three simple things that can help ensure our success when we find ourselves in difficult times.
The first step is using the right words to speak to ourselves.
Sounds simple, right? The truth is that our words are extremely powerful.
Sure when other people put us down or talk negatively towards us, it can hurt.
But the most powerful words are those we speak about ourselves.
We have to train ourselves to speak affirmatively towards ourselves.
That means we have to be our biggest cheerleader.
The fact is that we are usually our biggest critic, right? I have personally struggled with being critical and hard on myself for regrets, choices, and decisions.
When I did finally let them go, I wondered why I held on to them for so long.
Speaking to yourself affirmatively not only increases your genuine confidence but it also seeps down into your body all the way down to your heels.
The second step is to continuously surrounding ourselves with easy-on-the-heart people.
These people are genuinely good people who care and really want the best for you.
Sure, you can still have friends in your life, but I recommend limiting your interactions with "high drama" individuals.
High drama people really do only one thing: they steal your balance away.
They take your comfort level away and they increase your coristol levels, which increases the chances of cardiovascular disease.
Instead, try to nurture healthy relationships with healthy people.
You don't need a lot of friends, but you do need quality friends.
Living in the age of social media and powerful social networks really fools us into thinking that we have greater connections with each other.
The truth is that real friendships go beyond sharing your current status electronically.
We humans were built for that type of interaction.
The last (but certainly not least) way of ensuring personal success, is the ability to find ways to express gestures of love - every day.
Sometime this is the hardest thing to do.
Finding small ways to let someone know you care can not only be rewarding, but it can also be fun.
Sure, flowers are nice, but even a phone call to your grandmother on Monday morning is also wonderful.
Take time to show gestures of love and soon, you're world of success will also start opening up.
Are these three things the only things that can ensure your success? No.
But it's a great start.
And I promise that if you make a genuine attempt to do these things every day, your life will be more fulfilled than ever.
