How to Clean Stained Ceiling Tiles
- 1). Take down the stained ceiling tiles you wish to clean from the railing or tracks they are secured on. Normally this can be done by simply pushing up on the center of the tile and pushing to one side. Then grab hold of the end of the tile and pull it down through the opening left by its absence.
- 2). Turn on the water in the shower and adjust the temperature to tepid or slightly warm. Place the ceiling tile into the shower area and allow the water to run down the stained area.
- 3). Rub the cleaning rag across the stained area gently, so as not to break the ceiling tile. Turn off the water and allow the tile to sit in the shower stall against a wall to drain completely. This can take as little as five minutes for foam tiles, or as long as two hours for cardboard backed tiles, in which case the shower should never be used.
- 4). Dry the tiles off with the dry towel and replace in the ceiling track where it was previously removed.
