Keyless Entry Malfunction Vs. Bad Sensor
- A garage door opener has a keyless entry button that transmits a signal to a sensor receiver. This communication allows the door to open when only that button assembly is pressed.
- One of the most common malfunctions of the keyless entry device are low or bad batteries. Try using a spare device to verify that it is the original keyless device's malfunction causing the problem. If both devices do not activate the door, the problem is within the receiving sensor.
- U.S. Door Control recommends to also check that the lock function is not on. If it is activated, the devices will not open or close the door. Depress the flashing button on the wall unit of the garage to stop this function, allowing the devices and sensor to work appropriately.
