Types of Closets
- This is a typical closet, usually large enough to hang a few clothes. They are normally located in bedrooms, but may be in hallways as well.
- The walk-in closet is an extended version of the wall closet. It is located in bedrooms or bathrooms as a storage space for clothing and accessories such as shoes, belts and ties.
- Utility closets are where you'll find water coolers or heaters. They may also contain household supplies such as brooms, vacuums, mops and buckets.
- Linen closets are usually narrow closets located near the bedrooms and bathrooms of a house. Bedsheets, towels and toiletries are usually stored in the linen closet.
- The closet that is located directly beside a home's main doors is typically used as a coat closet. It is usually used to hang up the coats and items of guests who have come to visit for a brief period of time.
- A pantry is located near or in a kitchen and is used to store food that doesn't require refrigeration including dried pastas, breads, cereals and canned goods. It may also store other kitchen-related items such as crock pots, spare paper towels and cleaning products.
