Water Spot Cleaning a Wool Carpet Stain
- 1). Lay a towel or paper towel over the stain or spot. Step on it to absorb as much liquid as possible.
- 2). Dampen a cloth using cool water. Blot the cloth over the spot or liquid. Remove as much of the stain or spot as possible.
- 3). Mix one cup lukewarm water with 1 tbsp. liquid laundry detergent in a bowl. Dip a cloth in the mixture and blot on to any set-in or hard-to-remove stains. Continue until the spot is gone.
- 4). Blot the carpet with a water dampened cloth, to remove all soap residue.
- 5). Allow the carpet to air dry. Periodically, rub your hand over the area so the carpet tufts do not dry stiff.
- 6). Run the vacuum over the dry carpet to remove any remaining dirt and help loosen stiff carpet tufts and fibers.
