Bakugan Battle Brawlers - A Fantastic New Game!
I can see why the Bakugan Battle Brawlers are selling out at toy retailers, since this combination card and transforming-marbles strategy game captures the minds and imaginations of children and even helps them with their math skills as they add up their points.
The Bakugan Battle Brawlers game is based on the anime-style cartoon, which my son also enjoys watching.
The cartoon follows the adventures of Dan and his friends as they use powerful cards from another world to create a complicated battle game.
Dan and his cohorts soon realize that this is actually a battle to save the parallel universe of Vestroia.
The plot of the Bakugan Battle Brawlers cartoon show focuses on Dan playing the game, constructing game strategies for his next match, and interacting with other characters on the show.
The Bakugan Battle Brawlers toy includes brightly-colored ping-pong-sized marbles (called Bakugan) that pop open after they are rolled to reveal robots or creatures.
My son loves playing with the Bakugan even when not actively playing the game! In the actual game, the marbles are rolled on a series of playing cards with metal components that trigger the marbles to open as they are rolled across them.
This makes for a much more exciting experience than a traditional game of marbles.
There are six different colors of Bakugan Battle Brawlers marbles and the different colors refer to different planets the creatures are from.
According to the game's U.
S.
manufacturer, Spin Master, there are 150 different versions of the creatures and 200 different playing cards, so we will be collecting these for many holidays to come.
There are also accessories, including a Bakugan Battle Brawlers game board and a holster that allows Bakugan balls to be carried on a belt.
Bakugan Battle Brawlers game play, which is actually pretty fun, consists of laying out the cards and then rolling the transforming marbles.
On each roll, one of three outcomes is possible: (1) Two of the players' own Bakugan land on the same card.
If this happens the player wins this card and retrieves both the Bakugan into their available pile of Bakugan.
(2) The Bakugan lands on a card where an opponent's Bakugan is already standing open.
When this happens a battle begins.
Both players flip over their gate card and determine the total G power points from the specific creature and any bonuses.
The higher total G number wins that player both the card and their opponent's Bakugan creature.
(3) The opponent's Bakugan is knocked off a card while the player's Bakugan stands.
This immediately wins the card and claims the knocked-off piece until the end of the game.
Bakugan Battle Brawlers is currently one of the hottest items in the toy world.
If you are lucky enough to find this game, purchase it for a child and you can be his hero!
