How to Remove Hand Sanitizer From Furniture
- 1). Create a mixture of 2 tablespoons mineral oil and one-quarter cup rottenstone, a fine polishing abrasive available at woodworking and home improvement stores.
- 2). Stir the ingredients until they are well mixed and add more rottenstone until a paste consistency is achieved.
- 3). Dampen a rag with the mixture and work it into the hand sanitizer stain. Work the paste into the stain until the stain is removed.
- 4). Wipe down the wood furniture with a damp rag. Allow the wood to dry before covering the piece with a light coating of furniture polish according to the package directions.
- 1). Cover the hand sanitizer stain with a light coating of cornstarch. Allow the cornstarch to soak up the sanitizer for 10 to 15 minutes before wiping it away with a damp cloth.
- 2). Create a mixture of 2 tablespoons powdered oxygen bleach and 4 cups warm water. Stir the water until the oxygen bleach powder is dissolved.
- 3). Dampen a rag with the oxygen bleach solution and dab it at the hand sanitizer stain. Dab at the stain until the stain is removed.
- 4). Dampen a separate rag with plain water and wipe down the upholstery to remove the soapy water. Set a dry towel onto the wet spot and apply pressure to lift the liquids from the upholstery.
