"Every body" can do this
This is another of those surprising and varied pool techniques. Basically, I am going to add the motion of my whole body to the forward momentum of my pool cue rather than hold my torso motionless as in the classic pool stroke.
The photo was taken near the conclusion of my final backswing, as I just begin to add body motion to this stroke.
From the feet on up, I have begun to move forward with the cuestick. A great stop action photo taken near the point of impact!
Through the end of the stroke now, and compare to earlier photos in this article to see how much body action I've added to the stroke, therefore the "body slip stroke". Getting a touch of body into the stroke has been emphasized by a few brilliant players through the years.
I have greatly exaggerated my body motion to illustrate the principle of this technique for you--but you should have seen the funny looks on the other players nearby as these photos were taken!
Compare photos to see how much I've moved between the backswing and now. Of course, I still made the shot successfully!
