How to Remove Oil From Tan Leather Boots
- 1). Press a soft, clean cloth down on the oil stain. Your goal is to try to remove as much of it as possible. Turn the cloth to a fresh, clean side and press down again on the stain. Repeat until you've absorbed as much of the stain as possible.
- 2). Moisten a cotton ball with white vinegar and wipe it down across the oil stain. Continue to wipe down the area and re-moisten the oil stain with the cotton ball until you see it dramatically begin to disappear.
- 3). Rub a soft, clean cloth back and forth across where the oil stain was and where the vinegar residue now is. If you leave this area wet, your boots could dry with a slight discoloration. Move the soft cloth back and forth across the area, vigorously drying it.
- 4). Dab the area of the shoe with a leather conditioner, applying it with a soft cloth. Allow it to penetrate the leather for around 10 minutes. Wipe it off with a soft cloth.
