Negative Health Impacts When Turned 40

My Friend had possessed a good health throughout her life. She has had problems with her health only through accidents and health issues during childhood. She sent me a mail and it stated that she got irritated because of the bad health she had.

She felt it annoying as she had been trim and glamorous throughout. She felt that her body operated negatively.

Doctor told her that her excretion and the digestion process have slowed as she reached her 40s.She had chopped her diet down but still she felt she was putting more weight

She started to have irregular routine of metabolism with no cure. Her female doctor told that once a person approaches 40 hormonal secretions operate the system strangely

She had an allergy towards iron rich foods which she told me. She started to feel allergic to certain foods she used to take.

Now I find out most recently that her blood pressure, which had been 110/70 for most of her life, was starting to creep up and up now consistently over 140/80. And the only serious injury she ever had- a damaged knee from a skiing accident she had at 17- was starting to poke its head in as arthritis.

Every individual who turns 40 will have the anger that they face lots of side effects and due to that they will have to take more medicines that take the side effects of the original medicines taken. Her complaints were not just like others.

I had advised her to be the part of the healthcare team. Being a part of the health care team she will be able to listen to the doctor and let the doctor know what the problems are. She just need not listen to the doctor for one side advise. She is a patient who has a healthy bondage with the doctor and she has frankly been telling her problems to her so far.

Certain times it cannot work because major injuries and problems will need an operation. She nowadays asks for natural treatments when she meets the doctor

But when it is feasible, as with the case of her reflux and blood pressure, she lays the boundaries clearly for her doctor, and with his blessing and supervision, she has been able to very effectively manage not only her blood pressure and reflux, but also her arthritis and erratic hormones to a large degree.

Altering her food habits have reduced her reflux, blood pressure, and her hormone issues. She does not prefer any kind of medicines. She focuses on her diet planning and spends time effectively on exercising.

And with the changes coming in healthcare reform in the US, she also gets very nervous as to what it will mean to her if anything significant happens. She told me, "Why invite trouble? It takes less time for me to plan my meals better and to research natural methods than it would for me to fight with my insurance company over which pill is covered and which one isn't. I work full timeI don't want to give away my free time to the pharmacy, the insurance company, or any of those other folks if I don't have to. Besidesmeal planning and exercise are things my whole family can do together."
