Tips to Reduce the Waistline
- Get in the swim.
Choose from a plethora of aerobic exercise. Take a daily brisk walk and enjoy the scenery. Bike or swim, or if you'd prefer the company of others, take an aerobics class at the local gym or recreational center. Aerobics are good for strengthening muscles as well as burning calories. - Yoga stengthens the body.
Take a Pilates or yoga class to strengthen your core muscles. The side bends and forward bends common to these disciplines are great for engaging the muscles that surround the waist. Stretching and twisting assist in toning the area. Crunches, which target various areas of the the abdomen (depending on how you do them), do not take inches off but strengthen the ab muscles. - Healthy eating.
It is important to eat a breakfast of whole grains and fruit daily. Drink water for the best hydration. Examine your present diet to uncover any hidden calories (those that go uncounted during the day), such as cream and sugar in coffee, soda and alcohol. Do not bring high-calorie, high-fat foods into your home or office, and avoid fast-food restaurants. Eat small meals several times a day rather than three large meals to avoid hunger.
Keep a diary of what you eat. Seeing it in writing will help keep you on track.
