    Elegant Cake Spheres

    • 1). Prepare a store bought cake mix according to the mix's directions. Bake the cake until a fork inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.

    • 2). Allow the cake to cool at room temperature and then mash it up in a mixing bowl with a can of icing.

    • 3). Roll small sections of the mix into balls that are approximately one inch in diameter. These measurements do not have to be accurate, but make them small enough to fit into a miniature cupcake cup.

    • 4). Melt white chocolate over a double boiler and separate it into three or four different bowls. Add food coloring in the colors of your choice to all but one of the bowls of chocolate to create a colorful display.

    • 5). Divide the balls of cake into three or four groups. Dip each group into one of the bowls of chocolate.

    • 6). Roll the chocolate-covered cake spheres into tasty toppings, such as sprinkles, miniature candies and coconut. Place each finished sphere into a miniature cupcake cup.

    Fruit Balls

    • 1). Remove the outer peel and rinds from a small watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew melon and papaya.

    • 2). Use a melon baller to scoop out small balls of fruit from each of the items.

    • 3). Place one third of the balls of fruit into miniature cupcake cups and set these aside.

    • 4). Melt milk chocolate over a double broiler. Dip one third of the fruit balls into the milk chocolate. Place them into miniature cupcake cups and set aside.

    • 5). Dip the remaining fruit balls into a small bowl of honey or light syrup. Next, roll them in coconut, chopped almonds or granola. Place them into miniature cupcake cups.

    Miniature Muffins

    • 1). Prepare several store bought muffin mixes, such as carrot muffins, blueberry muffins, banana nut muffins and raisin bran muffins.

    • 2). Place miniature cupcake cups into a miniature cupcake baking pan and spoon the prepared muffin mixtures into the cups.

    • 3). Bake the muffins until a fork inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.

    • 4). Allow the muffins to cool at room temperature. For healthier snack options, these muffins are now ready to be served.

    • 5). Spread cream cheese icing on the carrot muffins for a more dessert-like snack. Cover the blueberry muffins with a teaspoonful of blueberry preserves. Cover the banana nut muffins with a mixture of finely chopped almonds and honey.
