Casual Picnic

  Take the kids on a picnic in your own backyard or local park. Grab a colorful blanket, pack a lunch for the whole family and spread it out for all to enjoy. As the children unfold the goodies, ask them to talk about the lunch items. This will encourage them to chatter away and behave naturally, which is especially helpful if you have hired a photographer. To demonstrate big sister's desire to share, have her offer part of her sandwich to little brother, pass over an apple with a big bite missing, or pour milk in a glass for him. Gather some flowers, if available, and ask the little brother to present them to the big sister.
  
  

The Playground

  Explore a playground never before ventured by your children. So that you may safely guide them about and get some great action shots, an outside photographer would be best for this location. Follow them as they discover the new set of colorful playground equipment, and help pose them in some adorable scenes that showcase big sister's protective instincts. Instant classics include big sister pushing little brother in the swing, guiding him up the monkey bars, and pushing him on the carousel. He can also be placed in her lap at the bottom of a slide as she hugs him from behind.
  
  

Dress-up

  Kids love to dress up in silly costumes, and photo opportunities are plentiful when they are allowed to run wild as their chosen characters. This is best outdoors on a sunny day, to create colorful and animated images. If your children are high-energy, consider an outside photographer to get those magnificent action shots. Little brother can save the day in a cape and a hat, while big sister is helplessly bound to a tree with something cute and soft like toilet paper. Big sister can be the princess with crown and wand while transforming little brother from a bug with antennae into an adorable prince.
  
  

Dancing

  On a night when the moment strikes you, turn on the stereo and let the kids pick some music they would like to dance or sing to. This is the perfect opportunity to get a priceless shot of little brother standing on big sister's feet while dancing. Give them a hairbrush to use as a microphone. Another cute idea is to have them singing back to back. Whatever shots you manage to get will naturally showcase the big sister and little brother relationship as the younger one will be looking up in admiration as big sister leads.
  
  

Sleeping

  Perhaps the most heart-warming image is that of peacefully sleeping children. Tucked into big sister's bed with a favorite toy or stuffed animal, you can capture big sister reading little brother a story. When the siblings are both asleep, tiptoe in and get that fabulous sleeping shot. For this duet, the most precious photo would be that of big sister's arms snuggling tight around little brother.
