The criterion of good and evil is God oriented! Inevitable finality!

Why should there be good and evil? Why should we spend our lives torn between the two tendencies. Both tendencies are inborn aspects of ourselves. What is good and what is evil? It is a natural sense imbedded somewhere in our minds.

In other words we are pre-programmed with good and evil and the faculty of distinguishing clearly between the two. This faculty dominates our lives. Even the most ardent of Mafiosis feels naturally that he is committing a crime, whether murder or theft.

Those who are psychopath genociders like Hitler, Mussolini, Paul Pot and Ben Ladden to leave a big place for so many leaders of states and army generals, feels the difference too. No one is bereft of such a feeling, sensing, perception and also distinction between the two actions.

However, to feel what is good and what is evil is something and to put it into action is another. We all feel at one time or another like strangulating your boss, or school teacher or even your president, but we do not carry out what we feel, fortunately. Otherwise, the world would end up in murder and massacre.

Remember Cain who slew his own brother Abel!!

First crime, first murder, first killing, first coflcit and first war among humans. Brothers in blood one taking the life of another. This is an intentional first aggravated murder with premeditation, planning and willful act. If Cain committed such a heinous murder of his brother in Texas he would have been executed by death penalty, for 34 states in the United States still apply, and luckily, capital punishment.

Under the Divine Law Cain was already sentenced to hell fire in the hereafter, to abide therein for ever.

If we think of Napoleon, Hitler, Paul Pot and Bin Ladden, then these merit several eternal lives in Hell Fire.

What can be considered as a strong argument, without proof, but with great plausibility, is that humans have the two tendencies and it is up to every individual person to choose either and to act accordingly. Man is conscious of the two tendencies, without asking much about their origin or their effects or mechanisms, and he has the freedom of will and the intention to go either way. It is also up to the individual to put into action and exercise his intention.

The result of these tendencies and men's reactions to them is long list of good and evil, right and wrong.

This is why a Day of Judgment is necessary where final judgment is applied to all, without the least exception. Then the divine tribunal will sentence humans according to their own deeds.
