How to Tie a Scarf: Pleated Drape Style
- 1). Loop the scarf around your neck with one side hanging lower than the other. Both ends of the scarf should be along your chest.
- 2). Fold the smaller end up and knot it loosely so that there is a loop at the end of it.
- 3). Push the longer end through the loop until the scarf is loosely tied around your neck. You can also tie it tightly if you prefer, but the knot is a loose drape that will look better with a looser scarf.
- 4). Use your fingers to make pleats in the end of the scarf you have pushed through the loop. Make the pleats next to the loop and a few more toward the end of the scarf.
- 5). Push a small amount of the tip or end of the scarf through the loop again in the same direction as you did in step three, but do not pull the rest through. Tighten your knot from step two. You are tucking the end of the scarf into the knot so it can't be seen and distract from the pleated loop. The ends of your scarf should now be in a large, pleated, draped loop. Put it at a jaunty angle on your shoulder for maximum visual impact.
