Hi I'm Louis Santalices, celebrity hairstylist and today I'm going to show you how to give straight hair volume using a blow dryer. There are three key components to achieving this look, one you want to blow dry your hair in the opposite direction that it's going to lay, two, you want to use a round brush and three, you want to use a product that's going to allow you to hold that volume. The tools that you're going to need are some clips for control, a round brush, a blow dryer and some products and to get that fullness today we're going to use Invisible Gel by L'Oreal Paris. I'm going to start with using the gel and I'm using about a quarter size and to start I'm going to place the gel at the crown of the head because that's where we want to achieve the most volume and I'm just running this through damp hair that's been cleaned and towel dried. So just run that really, good, massage it really focusing on the roots. So now I'm going to have her lean over and her hair is flowing now in the opposite direction that it's going to lay. And now we're going to dry the hair and at home you want to blow dry the hair in the opposite direction that it's going to lay so when you come back up you're going to have all this beautiful volume. And now that your hair is completely dried we're going to take the section on the crown and we're going to round brush this so there's a real natural fall of your parting. Take your round brush and you're going to go back. What you want to do is give good tension in your brush, lifting the hair in the opposite direction and hitting that hair with hot air. Okay, now that we've completed this top section and it's blow dried, I'm going to move this out of the way and just for extra control, I'm just going to clip that out of the way. I'm going to move on to this second side. Any time that you add any sort of bend or texture to the hair that's going to help you to get that volume and two, using the cold setting on your blow dryer is going to close the cuticles and just give it more of that polished look. So again giving lift at the root, just giving it some nice tension and round brushing away from your face. And you see that, that's going to give us a lot of volume. Okay, so now we've completed our blow dry. You can see she has volume, she has luster and this is a look that is very easy to do at home.
