How to Test Windows Mobile Applications

    • 1). Install Microsoft Virtual Server on your computer (see Resources). Select "Download" and "Run." The application will install on your computer.

    • 2). Install the Windows Mobile operating system (see Resources). Pick between Windows Mobile 5, Windows Mobile 6, and Windows Mobile 2003SE.

    • 3). Install Microsoft Device Emulator (see Resources). Select "Download" and "Run."

    • 4). Open Windows Mobile Device Center. Click "Start," "All Programs," and click "Windows Mobile Device Center."

    • 5). Click "Mobile Device Settings," and "Connection Settings." Select "Allow connections to one of the following," and select "DMA."

    • 6). Launch the downloaded Mobile operating system. Click "Start," "All Programs," click on the installed operating system, and select "Tools." Right click on the Manager and select "Cradle."

    • 7). Wait a few seconds for Windows Mobile Device Center to read, "Connected." Download the Windows mobile application of your choice. Clicking "Download," and "Run," will install the program on your PC. Open the file by double-clicking on it, and wait for it to run in your emulator.
