The whole point of blogging whether it's a personal blog about a hobby, or part of a business you want to engage your readers, get them to participate and keep them happy by giving them something interesting and unique.
Here is a list of 5 different types of content you can submit on your blog to help keep those readers happy and coming back for more.
1.
Your standard or classic content This is your standard text on a topic and supports the rest of your blog.
It's your bread and butter that brings in new readers and can turn them into repeat visitors.
This type of content is (if done right) in depth, informative, and meant to either help or entertain your readers.
2.
Guest posts A guest post is simply a blog post but from another blogger.
These kinds of posts are great if you're having a bit of writers block when you can't come up with new post ideas.
There also great when you're going away or won't be able to blog as it keeps new posts coming in on a regular schedule, so your site doesn't lose traffic or ranking.
And it's also a great way to spice things up and attract new visitors who might otherwise never have heard of your blog before.
The same also works in reverse with you posting on other blogs to help bring new visitors to your site.
Either way guest blogging is a win win situation for those involved.
3.
Opinions This is a good way to get your point of view across rather then just sticking to the facts.
This can involve anything from doing a review on a movie or product.
A rant about a politician or something you've seen.
Or your opinion on current events in the world.
Do it right and these kinds of posts can encourage discussion and lots of comments.
4.
News posts This one can be a challenge because you need to be quick when posting these.
Reporting old news (unless you can offer some kind of unique spin on it) should be avoided as this looks like your not in touch, or even desperate for attention and traffic.
5.
Throw in some media into the mix Having well written original content is great, and should always be your foundation when writing a blog post.
That being said you should also look at ways of spicing it up and adding additional content to keep your readers reading longer.
Things such as pictures, polls, and videos all help get your point across and add weight to what you're saying.
