As the internet grows and grows, there are literally millions of people coming on line now looking for some sort of internet business.
Buyer beware seems to be the order of the day.
With so many people coming online, there are just as many opportunities out there for the newbie.
Of course taking your time to do you research is always a good idea.
Actually talking to the people that run the business also makes good sense.
I have been in MLM and network marketing for about 20 years now, and I'd like to share with you just one of the many gems that I have learned.
You need to have two separate entities.
One for lead generation and one for your primary program.
I believe that lead generation is highly misunderstood in this industry.
Every business needs a constant supply of new people coming into the business.
The business itself usually isn't the lead generator (especially in the beginning) so you need to have a strategy to "bring people to the business" The Primary business itself is not in the lead generation business, so it typically has no knowledge of how to bring leads in.
The Primary business is concerned with selling products and services, and is not the expert in lead generation.
Design a page that is specifically designed to grow your email list, and capture peoples' information.
If you don't know how to do this, take a quick html class, or look at a page you really like and copy it to an html editor and play with it.
You can probably learn how to create a simple html page in about 1 hour.
Once you have a lead generation page, sometimes referred to as a "squeeze page" now you are generating leads, and growing your list.
Then you can market your primary program to those people, once you have them on your list.
The trick is here is to give yourself the opportunity to build a relationship with people that have given you their information.
So there you have it.
Divide your efforts between a lead generation machine, and building your business, and you'll be much more effective.
