Studying law can be a challenging but rewarding step toward a lucrative career, but with so many schools to choose from, it can seem impossible to know which university is best. An independent survey by the London-based "Guardian" newspaper ranked universities in the United Kingdom according to a number of different factors, including the percentage of students satisfied with teaching and feedback, and the staff/student ratio. - Cambridge's Faculty of Law ranked first in the United Kingdom with an overall index score of 100 percent, according to the "Guardian" survey. As of 2010, 95 percent of Cambridge law students said they were satisfied with their teaching--the third highest of all British universities offering law courses. At a tariff of 527, entry standards were also the highest for law in the UK. Around 70 faculty members teach approximately 700 undergraduate students in Cambridge, while the faculty also has around 100 graduate students. Students enjoy access to a dedicated law library with comprehensive research resources and an archive.

According to the "Guardian" survey, Oxford provides its students with an added value score of 9 out of a possible 10.

Sited in the center of London, the faculty draws on the British capital's extensive resources to teach its students. Leading judges and lawyers are amongst the 55 faculty members who teach 450 undergraduates, 350 taught graduates and around 40 research students. The faculty values its world-class reputation for research, and was ranked joint top in the UK in 2008.
