- 1). Select "Menu" and "Media" from your phone's main home screen.
- 2). Scroll through the Media options to "Downloads" and then "Get New Applications."
- 3). Scroll through the available applications for your carrier's back-up assistant program. Select the program when you find it and click "Download." Most carriers do not charge for the application.
- 4). Click "Open" when presented with the option to open the program after the download is complete. The program will verify your phone number and ask you to create a password. Enter your selected password and click "Next."
- 5). Select when you want the program to back up your phone's information. It backs up your contact list every 24 hours, and you can select a morning, afternoon or late evening back-up. Click "Next" when you make your selection.
- 6). Download the back-up assistant program to your new phone using the same steps as above. When you open the program, it verifies that your phone number already has an account. Enter your password. Click "Restore" and wait for the program to restore your contact list to the new phone.
