The Specifications for a NESS H200
- The Bioness NESS H200 is a device designed to be used as an aid to gain back muscle function in the arms by using light electrical stimulations. It is recommended for rehabilitation, physical therapy and to reduce frequent muscle spasms. The electric currents target paralyzed muscles in your arm and hand to help build and train the muscle over time to function properly again.
- The NESS H200 comes with the Orthosis, which is the centerpiece of the H200 and worn around your wrist. It includes a control unit where you can manage the intensity of the electric currents, a battery charger, the electrodes and pads, electrode screw and washer set, and a carrying case. The electrodes are placed inside the Orthosis, which comes in two different sizes, medium and large.
- The Orthosis has a cord coming from the base that connects to the control unit. Features on the control unit include a large display; electrode intensity controls, a cable release button and cable connect port. The on/off and modes button are located at the top right hand corner of the handheld control unit. The mode button allows you to toggle between training time and battery status. The last feature on the control unit is the thumb lever, which can adjust the height and involvement of your thumb while you train your muscles. The thumb lever has three positions. The first position flexes the mid-joint while thumb lever is in the "up" position. The "down" position of the lever relaxes the thumb at mid-joint and enables the user to flex at the base of the thumb. The middle lever position provides even balance to the thumb movement.
- There are seven operating modes for the NESS H200: personal, exercise, open-exercise, grasp-exercise, open, grasp and key. The personal mode allows the user to program a customized sequence of hand exercises while the exercise mode consistent of hand open and closing exercises at various speeds. Open-exercise and grasp-exercise mode incorporate relaxation techniques into the exercises. Open mode is designed to provide basic functionality as it helps open your hand and keep it in that position. The same principles apply to the grasp modes as well. The key modes work on finger muscles.
