How to Do Neck Stretches in Yoga
- 1). Clasp your hands behind you.
- 2). Remember to breathe deeply in through your nostrils and out through your nostrils.
- 3). Lower and tilt your chin into your chest.
- 4). Tuck a little further into your chest on each exhalation.
- 5). Do several (3 to 5) breaths (inhalations and exhalations) while holding this pose.
- 6). Feel the tug in your neck and upper back.
- 7). Realize that the tilted forward angle of the head and chin, in addition to the clasped hands behind your back, are opening your chest and stretching your shoulders, helping to relieve tension in your neck.
