How Snoring on a Self Hypnosis Audio Helped an Old Widower Sleep Without His Loving Wife

Since it is February and Valentine's Day is a few weeks away, I figured I would share this very touching and tender story with you.
This true case may bring strong emotion to you as you read it, while showing you some of the surprising ways that hypnosis can help people.
It is about a very old couple and surviving grief and continuing on with cherished memories.
Also, it contains elements of humor, as the best stories and experiences in life usually do.
What we as Hypnotists refer to as the "ripple effect" is when a client comes in and gets benefits and this positive change in habit or belief helps make the rest of the family feel better, too.
For example, a client quits smoking and they are healthier and more full of life and energy.
They usually feel better about themselves because they have regained control of this habit and they have more tools and resources to deal with stress, boredom, etc.
In this way, they generally feel more comfortable with who they are as a person and so those around them will most likely feel this and enjoy their company even more.
This is even more so if the spouse never liked the smell of smoke and is now thrilled with their spouse being healthier AND smelling better, too.
This may be even more important in a case like snoring.
Countless jokes are made about snoring and people living with someone who snores and how no one gets any sleep, yet this can be a serious condition.
I was reminded of this very touching case because I was recently interviewed by a female reporter writing for a magazine for women.
She wanted to write about women who suffered loss of sleep from their snoring husbands.
She wanted case file information focusing on men snoring and women suffering and how hypnosis helped them.
It seemed like she less than thrilled when I shared this touching story with her because she had an agenda and this went against that agenda.
However, since you are not biased to write a story with a certain angle, you will be neutral and free to enjoy the story however much you like.
From time to time, I record custom audio recordings for clients.
Many hypnotists do this and so I recorded a really good self-hypnosis cd for this client to help with his Insomnia.
The main reason this older man had difficulty sleeping was that he missed his loving wife so much! The first recording I made for him was useful and effective and he liked it a lot, yet he gave me an idea.
During one session we got to talking about his wife and some of the funny things he never thought he would miss about her but did.
You know how you put up with certain behavior or habits because you love someone, even if those habits are really annoying.
So he describes her snoring like a buzz saw that could wake the dead and in the middle of a fit of laughter his eyes start to tear up and he catches himself.
"Wow! I miss that woman!" His voice cracked a bit "Even her awful snoring!" So at the time I was living with a woman who I was very much in love with and who happened to snore like a buzz saw, too.
I got creative and recorded a bit of her own buzz sawing and looped it and added it to my custom recording for this older gentleman.
You can probably imagine the deeply grateful praise from this satisfied client.
"You've done it.
It's Amazing and thank you so much for everything!" Perhaps even sweeter was the look on my ex's face when she discovered how she played a part in helping this older gentleman remember his wife and get a good night sleep each night.
She had been a bit shy about her snoring (and letting me see her with glasses, when we first started dating) and how her very buzz saw rumbling was helping a kind old man sleep deeply and dream of his loving wife, while still living his own life.
Another ripple effect is that this kind old man had grand kids that he adored and so now he was no longer grumpy grandpa and they liked being around him even more.
So this true story has many elements of how hypnosis can be helpful and may even contain hidden hypnotic qualities that may help you find more gratitude for the people in your life, preferably while they are still living.
Happy Valentines Day.
