How to Get the Lint Out of Dreads With Bentonite

    • 1). Add hot water slowly to the bentonite clay to create a batter-like consistency. Mix the clay and water well, adding a little more water if necessary.

    • 2). Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to help dissolve the lumps. Stir it a little more after the 10 minutes.

    • 3). Apply the bentonite clay mixture to your dry or wet dreads.

    • 4). Leave the clay mixture on your hair for about 20 minutes. During this time, the clay will draw out all lint, dirt and debris.

    • 5). Rinse your dreads thoroughly.

    • 6). Repeat washing with bentonite clay every 5 to 10 days with new dreads to avoid unraveling the locks. As the locks and coils retain their shape, you can wash more often.
