Don"t Let Your Heart Be Troubled!
In this world we have many things to go through.
But Jesus said, "Don't let your heart be troubled".
So that means we have a choice to be troubled with worry or to trust God.
Jesus also said, "In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world".
So whatever we are going through we must choose to trust God or worry and fret about what is happening.
That doesn't always happen right away.
We may begin by worrying but hopefully we will remember God loves us and cares about our needs, then the trust part can start.
Our family is going through a hard time right now.
I was just diagnosed yesterday with spinal compression.
Something is pressing on a nerve, so I have to have an operation soon or I will be paralyzed the doctor said.
To add to that, we also have to find a new place to live, but since we have no income now because of disabilities, and waiting for social security to click in, we don't know where we are going yet.
The last time we went through this, in December 2010, God provided for us to live somewhere.
Now we have to trust Him once again to open a door.
We have that choice every time something bad happens, to trust God in the circumstance or turn away from Him.
What do you do when adversity comes? Do you draw closer to God or blame Him for your bad circumstances? Do you try to get closer to Him or do you harden your heart? God put us in a neighborhood where we are now that really needs Him.
The Lord has brought us people to minister to during our stay, but now it seems we have a new assignment.
Our work must be done for now in this neighborhood, so now we must trust Him for the next assignment.
You have the same choice.
If you are a Christian, how do you act and think when adversity comes? Are you a good or bad example to others during these trials? After the initial shock of what is happening, do you have peace and trust in your life? Fear and uncertainty are natural emotions because we are human, but we don't have to stay there.
Once we get over the initial shock, we should turn our hearts to God and humbly ask for His wisdom and provisioin.
If there is anything you know of that needs His forgiveness, then ask for that and then go on with God.
Don't condemn yourself for something you have already been forgiven for, unless you didn't do it sincerely.
The Bible says God forgets our sins after He has forgiven us.
Isn't that wonderful? People aren't always that way, are they? So what are you going to do the next time you run up against a problem? God loves you and wants you to be close to Him so He can comfort you and help you.
Will you let Him or will you try to do it in your own strength? Will you turn your heart toward God or away from Him? Will you choose to be worried and troubled or to trust God? What you choose will determine your peace factor and whether you will worry or not.
You will lose sleep if you don't trust God.
You are the only one who can choose what to do.
God wants you to choose to trust Him because He loves you more than you can even imagine.
He has a wonderful plan for your life if you will trust Him with it.
Don't let your heart be troubled, choose to trust God instead.
