How to Unscrew a Stripped Screw Head
- 1). Place a wide rubber band atop the head of the screw (if it is deep inside the material, shove the rubber band on top of the head).
- 2). Place the screwdriver with the appropriate head on top of the rubber band and push down as hard as you can.
- 3). Unscrew the screw slowly. The rubber band will give your screw and screwdriver enough grip to unscrew the stripped screw.
- 1). Drill a small hole into the middle of the stripped screw with a power drill. The hole should be a quarter of the way into the screw.
- 2). Place a Phillips screwdriver into the drilled hole and push down on the screwdriver. This will give you enough grip to unscrew the screw.
- 3). Unscrew the screw slowly and extract it from the material.
