As we approach the warm weather the thoughts of shorts and bathing suits start to pop up in our minds.
For women this can also mean more work in the hair removal department.
Over time, many women get sick of the shaving, tweezing and waxing methods.
Although some of the treatments last longer than others the time consumed to keep up with hair removal can seem daunting.
As soon as we are smooth and ready to roll to the beach we notice hair stubble.
All the stubble means is that we need to start the process of hair removal all over again.
Looking for a way to get rid of unwanted hair longer? Why not try laser hair removal? Laser hair removal is one of the most used methods of hair removal in the United States.
How does laser hair removal work? The laser uses very high beams of light in the hair follicles.
The pigments within the follicles absorb the light and this destroys all of the hair.
No hair equals no unsightly hair.
How long does the unwanted hair stay away? It is reported that 95% of clients report that unwanted hair is completely gone after about three to six sessions.
Warning, when choosing the spa to perform your laser treatment, always check their credentials.
This is a medical procedure and takes skill and training.
When arriving for your consultation you will be asked certain questions.
It is very important to answer these questions to the best of your knowledge.
Some of the questions will be the type of medications you are taking, your skin type and any medical conditions you may have.
Before going for the first laser treatment it is best to avoid plucking, waxing or tweezing for the recommended time.
The medical spa or doctor may also recommend that you limit your sun exposure.
Lying out in the sun to get a tan is a big no-no.
Not only are you exposing your skin to dangerous sun rays you may also have your treatment cancelled.
After the treatment you may experience slight discomfort and be given ice packs or anti-inflammatory lotions.
The next day or two following the laser treatment you may feel as though you have a slight sunburn or windburn.
This is not uncommon and will subside on its own.
If the discomfort is bothersome then cool compresses will help.
The price of this treatment will vary from place to place.
Be sure the medical staff knows what they are doing and there is a specialist physician on site at all times.
Though having a physician on site is something that many think is happening it just may not be.
Do not be afraid to ask any questions that may have you concerned.
