How the Information Industry Has Grown From Newspapers to Internet and Blogs
If you go back 15-20 years from now, you'll find a stark difference in the way things were done then and the way they're done now. The biggest and most obvious example is the internet. Although the internet was invented probably before that time but it wasn't as wide spread as it is now. Then, we had kuccha rastas, now, we have highways. Then, we had haath-gaadis, now we have the super-fast metro, airplanes and racer cars. Then we had the newspaper, now apart from the newspaper we have the World Wide Web. And if we want any information on any topic what-so-ever, it's just a click away.
These days, a vast plethora of information can be found on the internet, in what is called, a blog. There are many types of blogs on the internet some examples being lifestyle blogs, wellness blogs, beauty blogs, movie blogs etc.
The booming fashion industry has also taken up a huge slice of the internet on its platter. With the insurgence of many a fashion blog, the fashion industry is at an all-time high. Fashion blogs are popping up as fast as wild fire and a huge number of people are starting their own websites and becoming trend setters. It doesn't matter what you're looking for, these blogs cover anything and everything from fitness, to lifestyle (obviously) to fashion (yay!) to health, wellness, and also food.
Looking at the lifestyle blogs, It amazes me to notice the amount of development that we have made in the past 15 years. Everything seems different but somehow similar. Difficult tasks have become easier with scientific development and it has touched the life of the common man to the very core. To think of us going back and starting all over again from scratch gives me a shudder. This proves that we have come a really long way.
We would never be able to create what all these years have given us. Would you have thought of starting fashion blogs or health and wellness websites 20 years ago? Not quite!
Sadly we still haven't learnt to appreciate the efforts of all the philosophers, sociologists, economists, scientists, and the spiritual gurus that has paved the way for us. If it wasn't for these gifted men and women, we would still be struggling to make a living and grow from an under-developed nation to becoming a fast-developing one.
Our lives today completely revolve around the internet. People have even come up with memes that show how much we are dependent upon it. It's high time we start taking thing around us a little more seriously if we really want to be the next Shanghai... Until next time!
