How to Clean a Circle Y Saddle
- 1). Place the saddle on a saddle stand and remove the stirrups, girth or cinches and the breast collar. Wipe the saddle with a dry cloth to remove dust.
- 2). Load saddle soap on your sponge by dampening the sponge very lightly with water and rubbing it against the saddle soap bar to get a thick lather.
- 3). Rub the sponge against the leather parts of your Circle Y saddle, using circular motions to apply to the saddle soap to the saddle; make sure to reach all tricky areas. Brush the flesh sides (unfinished) of the saddle with a stiff bristle brush. Wipe off any excess saddle soap from your saddle, using a damp cloth.
- 4). Apply conditioning cream to all leather parts of your saddle on a dry cloth. Start out with 1 tbsp. on your cloth. Use slightly more if necessary but do use it sparingly. Leave to dry for an hour and then remove excess conditioning cream with a dry cloth. Buff the saddle.
- 5). Clean all silver parts of your Circle Y saddle using a clean cloth and water only.
