If you suffer from colds regularly than this might also cause you to snore.
Plugged up nasal passages will definitely lead to more snoring.
So, if you are suffering from a cold it is best to use a nasal spray or other decongestants to help clear your airways.
If you are carrying a bit of excess weight that could also be a problem.
People that are overweight are more likely to snore than those who are leaner.
So if you are carrying a few extra pounds you may want to incorporate a healthier diet and regular exercise into your day.
If you tend to sleep on your back this may also cause you to snore.
You may want to start sleeping on your sides to help reduce snoring.
This is a tough one to do since many of us change positions during the night.
One idea many people have used is to sew a tennis ball in the back of a shirt.
The pain will keep you from lying on you back.
It is a bit extreme, but it can be very effective.
What you eat and when you eat it can greatly affect your chances of snoring.
Dairy products such as eggs, cheese, and milk tend to create a lot of mucus which may clog up your throat and nasal passages, which increase your chances of snoring.
Cut back on dairy products especially in the evenings.
Also eating late in the evening right before bed is not a good idea.
Having a full stomach at bed time will put pressure on your diaphragm which may lead to snoring.
It is best not to eat anything several hours before bed.
