    Goin' Fishin' for New Business

    • Plan your meeting around a fishing theme, and present sales tactics in fishing terms. Explain how to "fish" for smaller sales and not invest all of your energy on catching the big one. Invite a guest speaker such as Buford Fuddwhacker to add some humor to your meeting. Fuddwhacker is motivational speaker who will provide humor relief to keep the attention of your sales force and encourage increased sales. Decorate your meeting place with a fisherman's theme. Use hats and lures as table decorations, and give away inspirational items such as small fishing rods to reel in sales.

    Heavy Hitter

    • Design your sales meeting around a heavy hitter theme. Focus on the intangible side of selling such as personal interaction, psychology and the human nature of decision makers to give your sales force the knowledge to become above average producers. Decorate your meeting venue in a baseball theme using bats, balls, pennants and hats. Add hot dogs and popcorn to your lunch menu to carry out the theme. Give your attendees inflatable baseball bats with your company logo to reinforce the heavy hitting theme.

    Johnny Appleseed

    • Present your sales training meeting around a Johnny Appleseed theme. Encourage sales representatives to plant the seeds and nurture those seeds for future sales. Explain how what you do today is important to your sales in the future. Give away seed packets and small pots to encourage your sales force.

    Them Bones

    • Design your October sales training meeting around a Halloween theme. Use skeletons to demonstrate the back bone of your business. Present items such as products lines, customer service or customer support that makes up the core of your business. Remind your sales force to always keep the back bone of the business in mind.
