How to Fit 32 Inch Tires on a 1988 Toyota Truck
- 1). Park your Toyota pickup truck on a level area and set the parking brake. Use the tire iron to loosen the nuts on all four wheels of the truck, but do not remove them. Use the jack to place underneath the frame on all four corners of the vehicle.
- 2). Remove the lugnuts completely from each of the wheels. Remove the wheels from the axles and place them to the side for later use. Use the appropriate wrenches from your wrench set to unscrew the bolts holding the front strut together. Push up on the strut to remove it from the frame mount.
- 3). Place the front spacer kit on top of the factory strut and slide it back into place. Secure the front strut and spacer with the provided bolts.
- 4). Move to the rear of the vehicle and take note of the leaf springs behind each of the rear wheel brakes. Detach the factory U-bolts holding the leaf springs in place. Jack the axle up with the Toyota truck's factory jack stand until it is completely off the jack stands.
- 5). Slide the rear spacer kit between the leaf springs and the axle. The pin on this spacing block attaches easily to the axle of the Toyota truck. The pin in the leaf springs now attaches to the newly-installed spacer kit. Repeat this process for the other rear wheel until both sides match.
- 6). Attach the provided U-bolts in the spacer kit to the rear leaf springs to secure into place. This U-bolts fit the leaf springs just like the factory U-bolts.
- 7). Unscrew the tire valves on each of the tires to deflate and eventually remove from the factory wheels. Use the tire iron to pry the old tires away from each of the wheels. This process might take a little work to remove each of the tires, so a little patience and firmness can go hand in hand.
- 8). Fit each one of the new tires so that it wraps around each of the intended wheels. Use the tire iron to help guide the tires into the correct groove of the rim. If you have access to a spin balancer, attach the new tire and wheel to it in order to properly balance the combination. Failure to properly balance your wheels and tires can result in quick, irregular wearing of the tires.
