    No Dial Tone

    • 1). Plug the small end of the power cord into the "DC In" jack on the bottom of the phone and the opposite end into a electrical outlet. Secure both connections. Check that one end of the telephone wire is secure in the "TEL LINE" jack on the back of the base of the phone and the other end is secure in the wall jack.

    • 2). Connect a different phone to the wall jack and see if you can hear a dial tone. No dial tone on the second phone indicates a problem with the wiring.

    • 3). Move the handset closer to the base unit. You are limited by how far you can move from the handset before it no longer connects with the base. Moving closer to the base will reestablish the connection.

    • 4). Place the handset on the base for 20 seconds to reset the unit.

    • 5). Charge the handset battery for at least 16 hours before trying to use it again. The handset may not function properly if it isn't fully charged.

    Static or Noise

    • 1). Move the handset closer to the base. Avoid obstructions, such as walls, which may be found between the handset and the base while in use.

    • 2). Unplug any electrical appliances plugged into the same outlet as the phone base. Electrical appliances may interfere with the connection between the handset and the base.

    • 3). Charge the handset battery by placing the handset on the base.

    • 4). Relocate a nearby Bluetooth cell phone to approximately 10 feet away from the base. As with electrical appliances, Bluetooth-enabled cell phones may interfere with the connection between the handset and the base.

    Handset Does Not Ring

    • 1). Turn on the ringer from the base unit. Press the "Menu" button on the base and highlight "Sound Settings" by pressing the up or down arrow buttons. Push "Select" to enter the "Sound Settings" menu. Choose "Ringer Volume" from the list of options; highlight "On" and press "Select."

    • 2). Check the base to see if the "Do Not Disturb" button indicator light is on. This feature shuts off the ringers on the base and all connected handsets. Deactivate the "Do Not Disturb" button to shut off the feature.

    • 3). Move the handset closer to the base unit to ensure they remain connected.

    • 4). Remove extra phones connected to the same phone line, and see if the phone rings. Excessive phone connections on one line may interfere with the GE Cell Fusion.
