How To Get Motivated In Ten Simple Steps
We all have goals in progress at the moment.
Some of us may have goals for our businesses, children, marriage, finances, careers, debt, etc...
Do you remember when you first set that goal? You we're so excited to see your goal transform into something amazing in your life.
Maybe your goal was to pay off all your debt...
In the beginning you we're so excited and you made a plan to cut back on expenses just so you could do it faster.
But something happened along the way and now you are feeling discouraged or not motivated to continue with your goal.
Setting goals, is a regular part of my lifestyle.
When I started, I don't think I ever finished a single goal.
One that I can give you an example of is fitness.
I wanted to gain more muscle so I set goals for myself and came up with my workout schedule and a diet plan.
After maybe a week, I would completely give up.
If I wasn't seeing fast enough progress I would just give up.
But in these cases, you need to just continue until you finish.
You need to have motivation.
Here are ten steps that I used personally on how to get motivated...
1.
Become serious about your goal.
Analyze what is it that you want.
Make sure you are absolutely serious that you really want that want.
Is it worth your hard effort and time? If no, then it is probably not a strong enough goal to motivate you.
2.
Have a clear picture of it.
If you want to lose weight, have an exact picture of what that looks like.
Answer questions like...
How many pounds do you want to lose? How many inches off your waist? Do you want to have more muscle? How much body fat do you want to lose?...
Simply stating that you want to lose weight is not a strong picture.
Be detailed.
3.
Constantly focus on your goal.
You don't want to lose your vision.
In order to do this, keep yourself focused on it.
You can do this by, changing the background on your phone screen to something that represents what you want.
Also, you could create a board and hang pictures of what it is that you want.
Don't lose your goal.
The less you put attention on your goal, the weaker and less important it will become to you.
4.
Think about what it will look like after you're finished with your goal.
What will your body look like? What will people say about you? Envision yourself already living your goal...
this will shut down the doubt and unbelief that comes up in your mind.
5.
Continue to do research.
With the example of weight loss, you want to continue to look up information about your goal.
Learn new things about it.
The more educated and informed you become, the more confident you will be in knowing that you can get what you want.
6.
Inspire yourself.
Look up success stories of people who we're able to do what you want.
Look up YouTube videos on the greatest weight loss stories.
This will grow your faith and when you see others doing it, it will be hard for you to NOT keep pushing forward.
7.
What will your benefits be when you reach your goal? Keep a list of the benefits that will come with your goal.
An example of this could be...
you will look awesome in a swim suit, you will feel more confident about your body, you will look healthier, etc.
8.
What feeling will you have after you have achieved your goal? Maybe this could be feeling happy or accomplished.
9.
Repeat positive affirmations.
Instead of telling yourself all the reasons why you can't get what you want, tell yourself positive things that will motivate you to work on your goal and you need to believe these affirmations.
10.
The last tip I want to give you is take small steps.
You do not have to reach your entire goal in two days, one week, three months, or even a year.
Do not make the mistake of waiting for the perfect moment.
This is "procrastination".
Don't fall for that trap.
Just start by doing something towards your goal today.
