- 1). Drill a hole in the wall, at the location you wish to place the screw, with a 1/8-inch drill bit.
- 2). Push a small screwdriver into the hole and wiggle it in a circular motion to enlarge the hole. You want the hole large enough for the toggle to be able to slide in.
- 3). Secure the toggle to the back of the shelf with a screw and push the toggle into the wall. When the toggle is far enough into the wall, you will feel it spring open.
- 4). Tighten the screw to secure the shelf to the wall.
