How to Clean a Kitchen Ceiling That Is Covered in Smoke
- 1). Remove food from the area to prevent the cleaning solution from getting on or in it.
- 2). Put on gloves to protect your hands from drying. Put on goggles to protect your eyes from the cleaning solution.
- 3). Soak a clean sponge with rubbing alcohol.
- 4). Rub the sponge over the surface of the ceiling to remove the bulk of the smoke stains. Work until the entire ceiling is clean or is as clean as possible.
- 5). Soak a clean sponge in paint thinner. The paint thinner will remove the rest of the smoke stains.
- 6). Rub the sponge over the smoke stains on the ceiling until they are completely gone.
- 7). Rinse the sponge in clear water and rub it over the ceiling to clean it completely.
- 8). Let the ceiling air dry fully.
