    • 1). Create a mixture with 1/2 cup mineral oil, 2 cups warm water and 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap. Stir the ingredients until they are thoroughly mixed.

    • 2). Dampen a white cloth with the mixture and dab at the rubber-sole stain. Continue to dab at the stain until it begins to lift away from the carpet. Do not rub the stain to prevent working the rubber deeper into the carpet fibers.

    • 3). Dampen a white cloth with non-acetone nail-polish remover. Dab at the carpet to remove the remainder of the rubber-sole stain.

    • 4). Rinse the carpeting well with cool water. Set a towel on the stain and weight it down with books. Allow the towel to remain and soak up the liquids for 12 to 24 hours.
